the ugliest blue you ever did see
|
Blue is the best color of the rainbow. And I've always had a theory about the color blue. My theory being that there is no such thing as an ugly shade of blue. It is not possible. It doesn't exist. I just proved my theory incorrect. I wanted to paint my bedroom turquoise. Somehow, I managed to pick the ugliest blue possible. My bedroom looks like a Tiffany's box on crack threw up all over the walls. My pupils are dilated, my head is spinning. It will be cheaper to repaint than the amount of $$$ I will spend on therapy if I have to see this color ever again. Bummer.
Just took a glance at perezhilton.com only to find that my one true love, Ryan Reynolds, just got married to Scarlett Johannson (whore). I'm in my house, all alone, complete silence, and I yelled out 'Nooooooooooo!' pathetic. He was on my list of guys I intend to marry someday. Not anymore. I really thought we could have had something special. Bummer.
Great discovery for the ladies..

Found the greatest nail color for fall: OPI Louvre me or Louvre me not! -- it is dark, like 'Lincoln Park After Dark' dark, but it has a rich chocolatey, not-too-goth feel -- great for fingers and toes. It's in their French Collection that just came out. Money well spent. Off to rehearsal with the band to get ready for the big Wednesday night show. I can't believe the CD release is already here. Please come if you can. As Ron Flynt would say, it's gonna be bitchin'.
Got a gig tonight! We are kicking off ACL at the Tap Room. C'mon! 10pm - no cover - 4th & Colorado I'm going to Anthropologie AND Target today...what a great day. Just walking through the halls of Target makes me a better person.
My brother called me from the Hamptoms...fancy, fancy...he's at some wedding getting his 'Chuck Bass' on... he just got hired by MGM to write the remake of 'Back to School' Rodney Dangerfield classic. Both a tall order and a prestigious honor. I'm very very proud. As for me, I spent entirely too many hours today picking out paint colors for the walls of my bungalow. (Everybody in Austin has a bungalow, not a house) -- All of the paint colors that I selected have something to do with food: portabello, latte, celery and flan.
FLIPNOTICS! We'll be playing at Flipnotics tonight (In the Triangle) --one of my favorite places to drink coffee and sing songs. Have you been to The Triangle? Well...Next to Flipnotics, there is a field of grass where all the young college boys play frisbee without shirts on. I think that must be what heaven is like.
Sold my house today ! That was fast. The house was so nice and clean, and I put on some Ray Charles in the background...that was the secret weapon, and it worked! I have to be out in a few weeks. My little sister is also moving home in few weeks, and my parents may be moving as well. Also, My man-friend, Mark, is coming to visit next weekend. That means I will be drinking a lot of tequila and staying up all night. And...CD release is 14 days away. That's 3 moves, a CD release, and 1 man-friend all at once. Big month. Oh, GREAT FABULOUS FANTASTIC WONDERFUL NEWS: The CD release is at One World Theatre on October 1st, and I just got word that HEY CUPCAKE! will be joining us for the celebration, serving their sweet velvety goodness to all. Yes, the world's greatest cupcakes for everyone! Pure deliciousness. So so so amazing. Who doesn't love a cupcake? There is just no reason NOT to go!
This a view from my practice room. There is a small cardboard cut-out of my friend, Tricia, when she was in highschool. You may not be able see in the silhouette, but she's a total hottie! I'm not quite sure why Tricia had a cardboard cutout of herself made back in the day, but I'm glad she kept it. It's amazing. I gained custody of this sweet, sweet little statue a few years ago. Very funny to me.

just got home from Marble Falls. We played at 'River City Grill' tonight --- great GREAT listening crowd. Good times. My house is going up for sale on Friday. The Realtor dude is coming to take pictures. I am stressing out about this. I just don't think I can live like a model home tenant until it sells. Not my style. I like to be messy sometimes. Plus, I don't want people walking through my house, judging my dirt. And, if someone walks in and doesn't want to buy the house, I will take it personally and get my feelings hurt. The whole thing just feels creepy. Strangers walking through my house, as I take my chihuahua to Starbucks for an hour, while they sift through my things and silently judge me. Yeah, not a fan. I hope it sells fast. My ambien is kicking in...better go before its too late! more tomorrow...

Had a photo shoot for some new press shots, and my dog Nelson jumped in a few -- he's going to be famous someday. As for me, I'll continue being that creepy chick with way too many pictures of her chihuahua. One step away from 'Crazy Cat Lady' -- It's cool, I've accepted it...SFL (single for life!)
Starbucks now offers Whey Protein in all their hot drinks...I love that they care so much about our health to offer this delicious and nutritious option. Kinda like when McDonalds added a salad to their menu... God bless America.
Down the road in Ipswich, England.
Greetings from Austin, Texas! Over the past 12 days, I visited London, Paris, Madrid, San Sebastian, and Ipswich (for Sam Baker's festival) -- I just got home last night and I can honestly say it was THE BEST time of my whole life, by far. My cheeks hurt from laughing and I want to go back, but alas, it is time to get to work and stop eating croissants all day. Plus, it is time to get this new album out into this newly-traveled world. I will say, that my little trip of a lifetime had little to do with the actual cities we visited. Sure, it was breathtaking to see Notre Dame and the Bay of Biscay...but my favorite part of the entire journey was the good company I had. Lesson learned: Happiness is only real when shared. Labels: Europe, London, Maverick Music Festival, Paris, San Sebastian, vacation
